Installation of an ORANE motor - opening towards the inside

Installation of an ORANE motor - opening towards the inside

You will discover in this tutorial the installation recommendations, as well as the steps to follow to properly install an ORANE engine on your portal for an inward opening.

Difficulty: Moderate
Time required: 120 minutes
Number of steps: 10

Pré-requis du portail

Prerequisites of the portal

The ORANE motorization is able to operate a gate composed of one or two beats, the maximum length of which does not exceed 2.5 m, in the case of a light and perforated gate. In case of a semi-yloid and heavy gate, the size of the be smaller.

The beats can be asymmetrical (of different size) as long as the largest of the boasts does not exceed the limit size supported by the engine.

The gate must be equipped with a reinforcing point, on which the motorization will cling.

The portal must be stable and balanced (do not open or close alone without external action).

The portal must open and close in a flat manner.

The portal can open towards the inside or outside of the property

Its maximum aperture angle should not be less than 40°.

Pré-requis du pilier

Prerequisites of the pillar

The pillar must have a sufficient size to properly accommodate the fastening tab of the engine.

The pillar should not be rounded on the face receiving the fixing tab of the motorization.

You will find in the image the minimum width of the pillar.

The pillar must be clean and dry and free of possible fasteners of an old engine model.

Pré-requis de l'environnement

Prerequisites of the environment

It is imperative to have a lateral safety clearance between the open portal and any fixed part of the environment.

The ground must be straight and regular. The portal should not rub against the ground.

The engine is not compatible with sloping, up or downward inputs.

The installation of ground abutmentFixesandPermanentesisObligatoryin opening and closing.

Pré-requis installation du portail sur le pilier

Prerequisites installation of the portal on the pillar

The depth of installation of the portal compared to the internal face of the pillar is important. We call it distance D.

It cannot be less than -5 cm (negative distance) and cannot exceed 20 cm in the case of an inward opening.

Installations INTERDITES

Facilities INTERDITES

It is strictly forbidden to install the engines on the outer side of the gate (street side).

It is strictly forbidden to install engines more than 1.50 m high.

A savoir

Namely

An articulated arm motorization is positioned as close as possible to the point of rotation of the gate (gond), so that the arms can be fixed as far as possible to the gate.

Step 1: Determine distance X

To measure the distance X, open the portal at the desired maximum angle (refer to Pre-requisite installation of the portal on the pillar to know the maximum supported angle supported). Measure 25 mm from the inner side of the gate. This is where the edge of the engine will be positioned.

The edge of the pillar fixing tab is 40 mm from the engine edge

Mark the position of the fixing tab on the pillar.

Step 2: Repairs fixing holes

Position the tab on the pillar (using the X rating), then mark the drilling locations

Step 3: Install the pillar fixing tab

Mark the location of the holes in the pillar by ensuring that the pillar fixing tab is mounted well horizontally at the end. Use shoots or any other fastening system suitable for the pillar material.

Be careful, the forces on the fixing tab will be significant when the motorization is running. We recommend sealing threaded rods with a length of at least 15 cm. If the pillar is made of metal, we recommend welding or passing through the threaded rods to fix them with self-locking nuts.
Consult a professional in case of doubt.

Step 4: Install and fix the engine on the tab

Place the engine on the fastening tab and assemble as described in the image opposite.

Step 5: Assemble and install the articulated arm

Assemble the arm and position it on the motor shaft as shown opposite.

Be careful not to tighten the joints (coude and wrist) of the arm.

Step 6: Determine the engine

Disconnect the engine by turning the BTR key counterclockwise.

Step 7: Identify fixing holes

Close the portal by pressing it well against the central stop.

Position the articulated arms against the gate respecting the distance of 75cm and then mark the location of the holes on the gate.

Warning: If your reinforcing point is flexible and is likely to bend under stress, install the arm 70 cm from the engine axis.

Step 8: Fixing the arm

Demonstrate the gate of the arm to be able to attach it to the gate.
Use screws and nuts suitable for the portal material.
Assemble the end of the arm and the gate attachment.

Step 9: Grinding the engine

Clutch the engine by rotating the BTR key clockwise.

NOTE: For a first installation, we recommend leaving the beats half-open before packing them.

Step 10: Perform the same operation for the second engine

Perform exactly the same operation to install the second engine block.
