Control your solar panels

Control your solar panels

ContrĂ´ler ses panneaux solaires

You want to control the proper functioning of solar panels, here is a tutorial that tells you the control points.

Difficulty: Easy
Time required: 10 minutes
Number of steps: 4
Updated: November 2024
Equipment required:
Multimeter

Step 1: Disconnection of solar panels

  • In order to work safely, please unplug the inverter from the 230V power source, then please unplug your solar panels
  • Disconnect solar panels by pressing MC4 connectors and pulling connectors

Step 2: Visual control

  • Make sure the solar panel is not dirty or damaged. A dirty solar panel can lose up to 15% production.

You can clean solar panels with warm water and a soft cloth. Do not use detergent product Do not scratch the surface of the panel so as not to scratch the surface glass.

  • Check that each line of welds connecting the cells is perfectly straight.
  • In case of cut-off or deterioration of the solar panel, its production will be more or less impacted.

Step 3: Unladen performance control

  • Position your solar panel in full sun.
  • Using a multimeter, please control the voltage of each solar panel.
  • Configure your multimeter to measure a 20Vdc voltage.
  • Position the terminalVoltyour multimeter on the "+" connector of the solar panel.
  • Position the terminalGndyour multimeter on the " -" connector of the solar panel.
  • In full sun and empty, each solar panel must provide10.7Vdc.

Step 4: Verification of solar panels in charge

  • Disconnect each solar panel at the inverter and reconnect the inverter at your 230V socket
  • Wait about 3 minutes the start of your inverter.
  • Then launch your AvidsenHome app
  • On the home page of the SORIA kit, press "PV power"
  • The value "Potor voltage" corresponds to the voltage provided by your solar panels. With 4 compliant solar panels, you should have a value of 34V
  • The value "Political Current" value corresponds to the intensity produced by your solar panels. This Value will depend on the positioning of your solar panels as well as the light power of the sun.Good exposure should be around 10A.

Example with a poorly connected or faulty solar panel

  • Photovoltaic voltage is incorrect
  • Photovoltaic current is correct

Incorrect or low light intensity exposure

  • Photovoltaic voltage is correct
  • Photovoltaic current is incorrect

It is normal to have these values in autumn as well as winter.
